Kimball had a tough time going to sleep on Saturday night, because we told her that she needed to go to sleep so that the Easter Bunny could come and leave her basket. It turns out that was not a good idea ;) She had forgotten about it in the morning because we waited until we were all up and showered and dressed before we looked for our hidden Eater baskets. Kimball walked around the house looking for it and calling out “Where are you Easter basket?” She finally found it hidden in our room. She was excited to see that the had been left with some eggs, coloring/sticker book and a 10 piece princess instrument set. She look music!!!!
As many of you know, we don’t really give Kimball candy :) We put some candy in the plastic eggs. Last year, she took the candy out of the eggs and played with them in her little people play sets. She didn’t eat a single one. This year was no different, she was much more excited about opening the plastics eggs than she was about the candy inside. She emptied her candy into a bowl.
Kimball wanted daddy to hold her egg, so she could take the candy out and put it back in again. I know, a deprived child. The funny thing is that she didn’t care about eating the candy.
Kevin & I found our baskets. Kevin had an amazon gift card in his and I had a Jamba Juice gift card in mine. We were happy with what we found :)
We utilized our tripod and took family pictures after church. Kimball did a nice job of cooperating!
Just a few shots of Kimball in her Easter dress – compliments of grandma Briggs. My mom bought it for her when she visited and February. It has been hanging in Kimball’s closet since then. Kimball would ask me every Sunday if she could wear that dress to church and I kept telling her she had to wait for Easter. She was so excited when we put it on. She kept pulling up the the outside layer and showing people at church saying “Look at my pretty dress!” She definitely felt like a princess :)
We had a pretty low key Easter egg hunt in our backyard after church. Kimball loved it. She would point at the egg and says, “there’s one”. I have a video of her hunt that I will have to post later.
We tried taking a casual family picture after the Easter egg hunt. Having a tripod is so nice and allows us to get some family shots every once in a while.
That night we had Jason, Rachel & Dawson over for dinner. I can’t believe I forgot to snag some pictures. We had a good time, eating and talking. With holidays, come fun traditions. We didn’t want to lose sight of what Easter is all about. We kept telling Kimball throughout the day what the true meaning of Easter is. I hope she understands that Easter isn’t all about the Easter bunny and Easter Eggs, but that it is a day for us to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ, and his atonement and resurrection. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that the atonement is real. I know that He is our Savior and Redeemer and that it is through Him that we will all live again. I am grateful for this knowledge in my life.

That's it! We need to buy a tripod. We have verrrrry few family pictures and. That makes me so sad!!!! Kimball is such a doll! We rarely ever give Brinley candy, so it is the opposite, she hoards them! Hahaha I put one jelly bean in each egg and she opened those eggs and put the jelly beans so fast in her mouth she had like 4-5 in there before we knew it!
