Oct 31st – Leon Valley Police Department, one of the world’s smallest police forces, nabbed a renegade driver blatantly running a stop sign. The driver, identified as Kevin Packard, failed to heed a traffic sign requiring him to stop. The criminal applied his brakes until the vehicle was moving approximately 0.5-1 mph, then proceeded through the intersection after finding that all was clear. The neglectful driver obviously put pedestrians and other drivers at great risk of injury or death, even though there were no other drivers, pedestrians, or animals within 200 yards of the reckless driver. Because of the failure to come to a complete stop, the car had the potential to barrel through helpless yards at breakneck speeds of up to 0.5-1 mph. After surprisingly finding no outstanding warrants for his arrest, the driver was fined $172.00 for running a stop sign. Surely this will make this driver think twice about not halting all forward motion, as well as think twice about booking a nice hotel for his anniversary. Yes, Leon Valley Police Department has successfully caught another dubious evildoer.

Sad story! You should challenge the ticket--maybe they'll knock a little off the fine.
Hmmm...not sure I feel safe living so close to someone who is clearly a dangerous sort of criminal... but seriously! That is SUCH a steep ticket for a stop sign!

P.S. Leon Valley PD once stopped me for my headlights being too bright. Nope, didn't have my highbeams on. Yes, they are original stock lights. Fortunately I don't think there is a ticket to give for that...but it does show the grumpiness of LVPD.
Do not mess with Leon Valley Traffic laws or Balcones Heights. They give tickets off those cameras. Just ask Bill.

LV police have nothing better to do than stalk petty traffic violators and then charge them up the wazoo. I'm surprised they haven't used that money to fix all the potholes!

OH my gosh!!! he's so scary!!! i don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight knowing that they didn't arrest this horrible criminal minded man!! what is this world coming to? and now his poor wife has to sacrifice a nice hotel for anniversary purposes because of his selfish criminal mind-ded-ness.. (yes.. i made that word..look it up!)
