My parents came to visit us in Corpus Christi for the first time over President’s Day weekend! I was very excited for them to come!
They got in Thursday afternoon, so we hired a babysitter to watch Kimball and took them to a restaurant downtown called Water Street. It has fresh & delicious seafood, but I wouldn’t know because I got a hamburger with sweet potato fries and that was delicious :) I don’t particularly enjoy seafood. I think everyone else enjoyed their dishes. If you are ever in town, I highly recommend you eat there!
Kimball and I hung out with g’ma & g’pa on Friday while Kevin was working. Mom and dad were nice enough to watch Kimball for us while we had an overnight getaway! We stayed at a hotel downtown and this was our view.
Kimball had a great time while we were away. She went on a date with g’ma & g’pa to McDonalds. They even got her an ice cream cone, boy was she in heaven. I thought Kimball would be easy for my parents and sleep through the night, so I wasn’t too worried. I was wrong. When we returned home at 11:00 Friday morning, Kimball was absolutely passed out on the couch. I thought this was strange. Mom told me that Kimball woke up at 3:00AM having leaked through her pull up. Typically this wouldn’t be a problem, however I had changed her sheets a few days prior and didn’t have any more clean sheets for her (oops). Mom said that she was wide awake at 3, so they decided to watch “Lady and the Tramp” and played until she finally fell asleep at 10:30. I felt horrible that my mom got up so early, but my mom always has the best attitude and never complains. She washed her sheets and just took care of our little girl. Thanks mom & dad!!!! We owe you BIG time!!!!
We went to the beach on Saturday afternoon. It was s beautiful day, so we thought we would enjoy it. When we got down to the beach, it was WINDY! The sand was blowing so hard, that it was hurting Kimball’s legs. Anyone that has been to Corpus, knows that it is ALWAYS windy here :)
Kimball is trying to disguise herself, so that the paparazzi would stop taking pictures of her. Too bad I wouldn’t stop :)
Revealing her true identity :)
Check out these two love birds! They are holding on tight to each other so they don’t blow away in the wind :)
Kimball wanted g’ma to give her a bath! We didn’t realize that it was because she can get away with drinking her bath water with g’ma :)
Our Sunday feast that mom and I prepared!
Kimball loved doing makeup with g’ma. They each had their own mirror and everything!
Kimball with her eye shadow. She wanted a uni-brow like her daddy ;) We love you Kevin!
Kimball loved taking walks around our neighborhood with g’ma & g’pa. She loves to walk on the wall too. She is so proud of herself!
We went out to dinner at Nikos Steakhouse the night before they left. I love good steak!
We tried to keep Kimball busy with the coloring page. Nikos had Disney characters on their kids menu, which I think is a great idea because Kimball was so excited to color them!
One last photo in front of our house the day my parents left. I love having my parents come to visit. It is hard for me to say good bye to them. I can’t believe that I am admitting this, but I cried most of the way home from the airport. Kimball kept telling me “it’s okay mommy, don’t worry”. I told her that I just miss grandma & grandpa. Now, every time she is sad or sees someone crying, she will say, “I miss grandma & grandpa”. I love my little Kimball and how sensitive she is.
Come back to visit us soon!!!! We love you guys!!!
