Christmas Eve we had a nice ham dinner with nice place settings and all!
The Packard tradition is that the elves deliver a letter from Santa on Christmas Eve letting us know when to expect Santa Christmas morning. We all have our hiding places, so that he won’t see us spying and scare him away! Do you think he was able to see us Christmas morning? I won’t forget the look on Kimball’s face when she saw Santa walk in the door. She didn’t say a word, but she just looked up at me with her eyes all lit up and the biggest smile on her face as if something magical had just happened. I was so proud of her for keeping calm.
We had the girls dress up in some of the nativity costumes while grandpa read from the scriptures and then we watched the movie clip that was shown during the LDS Christmas devotional. Kimball was a little confused on who she was supposed to be. Obviously she was a wise man, but she thought the shepherd’s staff was so cool, so she had to carry it around with her everywhere she went.
Kimball checking out her Santa gift. Santa knew that we wouldn’t be able to take a play kitchen home with us from Washington, so he delivered it to our house in Texas :) Though he did manage to bring her basket of play food to go with her new kitchen! She instantly took it all out and put it back in her “organized” way.
She was very territorial over her new food and was not in the mood to share.
Opening gifts was a ton o fun! I enjoyed watching Kimball neatly tear the wrapping paper off and see what was inside. Another hit was the puzzle book (a nice church going book for us).
The aftermath is pictured on the left. Pretty intense!
Kevin got a turtle beach headset, so that he could experience some killer (no pun intended) sound during his evenings of XBOX Battlefield playing!
Kevin surprised me with the new Kindle Fire, which I love. Kevin also makes me a video montage with pictures and videos from the year. He uploaded the 2011 one to my Kindle beforehand, so that I could experience the joy of having it at my fingertips. I watch that video almost everyday!
We tried taking some family photos after church, but Kimball didn’t feel like cooperating much. The picture on the left is how most of the 3 minutes of snapping pictures went.
Kevin and I never take pictures together, because one of us is always snapping the photos. Kevin got me a tripod for our camera, so that we can have more family photos taken this year.
A picture of Kimball with grandma & grandpa Packard!

The picture we took the week before Christmas with good intentions of getting out some Christmas cards this year, maybe Valentine’s cards ? :)
I know this is a super late post - We are so grateful for the Christmas Season and how it helped us to remember the life of Jesus Christ our Savior. We know that our Savior lives and that he is the source of all happiness. We are grateful for all the blessings we have received and continue to receive everyday.
