It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

A couple days after Kimball and I returned home from CA, we went to Lowes to pick out a real Christmas tree. Kevin & I both grew up with real Christmas trees, so we have made it a point to get one every year even though we always travel for Christmas. We love the smell and the feeling that Christmas is really here, even though it is 75 degrees outside. We usually pick a Douglas Fir, however this year we went with a Noble fir. We found the perfect one to put in our home. Kimball helped us pick it out.

One of Kevin’s favorite hobbies is tying a Christmas tree to the roof of our car.

FYI: Kevin was totally posing for this picture. I asked him to smile and this is what I got :)

As previously noted, Kimball loves to help decorate for Christmas. She loved helping daddy out with the lights. Every morning she makes sure that all our Christmas lights are on in the house. She will sit at the Christmas tree for about 30 minutes pointing out every ornament to me. Pretty sweet!

Can you tell where Kimball put all the ornaments we gave her?

She was so excited to see Santa this year. We were shopping at the mall and I told her that she could wave to Santa, but we couldn’t take a picture with him. She was content with that. I later found out that Santa is at our local grocery store on Saturday from 11-3 and you could snap a picture for free! Kimball was so EXCITED to find out we were going to see Santa at the grocery store! It made her day! Santa even gave her a special candy cane that she would not part with. That candy cane stayed with her the rest of the day! I love Kimball’s enthusiasm about everything!

What a fun picture with Santa! And the tree looks great. Maybe we will get a real tree next year. I love the smell of real trees.
