Looking a little lost? Kevin took Kimball on a walk down a dirt road close to Kevin’s parents house. Kimball wasn’t so sure about it at first, but warmed up to the idea quickly.
The new puppies – Bogey & Kate
The drive from Washington to Oregon was beautiful! Kevin was in heaven as he saw several trains making their way through the gorge! He kept telling me to take out our camera and take pictures of trains that we would come across. This picture was taken from across the river while driving, so the quality isn’t that awesome.
As I have mentioned before, Kevin loves painting model trains, so I snapped a few pictures of trains with graffiti on it, so that he could have some fresh idea for his remaining train cars. Pretty nerdy, but pretty cute all at the same time :)
Kevin had an interview in Clatskine (sp?) and Astoria, OR. This was our number one choice for where to go next. It seemed so perfect on paper – good pay, 3 year contract associate, on the West coast, etc. Our thoughts changed after we actually visited the place. This city has so much character, but we are not sure we would be able to live there for 3 years. Kevin really enjoyed the way the practice runs, but he would have a 2 hour commute round trip 2-3 times a week. We will see if we get offered the job until we make a final decision. Anyway, here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
Not so sure I would ever get into that water considering the warning signs :) The photo on the right is the view from the office in Astoria – it is waterfront property.
Kevin had to put his cigarette out, after he saw the No Smoking sign :) j/k
Of course it was raining in Oregon, so we were able to see a rainbow. It has been a long time since I have seen a rainbow.
The drive was BEAUTIFUL – we saw so many waterfalls.
Christine lives a little over an hour away from Mom & Dad Packard’s house, so they came up on Thursday night and we all played on Friday. Kimball had a great time with her cousins Brielle & Melanie.
We went outside to check on the fish in grandma & grandpa’s pond.
Kimball is already learning how to drive – a little scary!
Signing Time was a hit with this crowd. Kimball could watch it all day if we let her :)
Melanie and Kimball were making themselves comfortable in the doll’s cradle. Kimball even had her bottle ready. Kimball’s favorite toys at grandma’s house were the princess cell phone and the baby doll. Kimball always felt like she had to feed her baby. It was so cute seeing her be a little mommy and feeding the doll a bottle. After she would feed her, she thought the baby had to go potty, so she would say “Potty” and hold the baby over the toilet. Kimball only dropped the doll in the toilet once :)
One of dad’s hobbies is taking care of his salt water aquarium. Kimball enjoyed saying goodnight to the fish each night before she would fall asleep.
Thank you mom and dad Packard for hosting us and taking care of Kimball, so we could go to some interviews.

That place is so beautiful! But from the pics, I don't know if I could live there. Those coastal towns in Oregon are kind of funny. And after living in places where it RARELY rains??? and to go to OREGON???? oh my gosh. I don't know if I could do that at all. BUUUT it is close to fam and that's our ultimate goal too. But, do whats best for you guys ya know!!!!
Good luck guys! not fun looking for work! So many decisions! Ahh! Seriously, I hope you find something fast. I don't recommend that lifestyle to anyone. I hated it. So nice to be settled.
If you are ever in teh Wenatchee area, let me know! We'd love to see you guys!
It looks so pretty there. But...my vote is for you to stay here in SA with me :). I love Kimball. She is such a doll. So fun to catch up on your blog.
