Fire!!

We have been in our apartment for over a year now and we used our fireplace for the first time on Wednesday night. You may wonder why we would need a fireplace down here in Texas? Well, it does get pretty cold down here during the whole week of winter. And by cold, I mean cold...like 60 degrees. We were not able to use it in the winter last year, because the hood on our chimney was missing and we were waiting for our apartment management to fix it. So needless to say, it was hard to stay warm...Kevin had to hunt bison and make mocassins and cloaks from their hides. They finally got around to fixing it right before Summer hit (9 months of 95+ degrees, hooray!), so we didn't have much use for it then. Kevin was so excited to get a fire in our fireplace that he watched the weather channel everyday to see when it would be cool enough to use. Wednesday night was good enough for him and it was only 75 degrees. We had to run our air conditioner to make the conditions more bearable during a fire.

I love Kevin's enthusiasm and nothing will stand in his way when he is determined to do something! Our next step is roasting marshmallows for S'mores!
