Trip to San Antonio

Kevin had a CE course to take up in San Antonio on April 20th, so we made a little family vacation out of it. While Kevin went to his class, I had plans to take Kimball and Addison to the zoo. When we got there, it was packed! There was some type of event going on. I was very grateful for my smart phone that day, because I was able to get directions to the San Antonio Children’s Museum. Kimball had a blast there and it was a great way to spend a few hours in an air conditioned building!

They had these ball pit balls that you could play with when you first walk in. Kimball would put these balls into these pipes that would take them to this huge net that was hanging in the air. An employee at the museum would push a button that would release the balls to fall over all the kids. That was her favorite part :)

They also had a sand box to play in and a tractor simulator where she could climb in and push the buttons to move it.

She played pilot in the cockpit of the plane they had there.

Then she played passenger.

Kimball likes to have control, so she made her way over to the control tower.

Addison was sound asleep the whole time, which is amazing considering the noise in there. Then again, I guess she does have Kimball for a sister and is used to one volume – LOUD! I also love the baby phase where they can just fall asleep anywhere.

She wanted to call all her friends from this telephone booth!

She learned how to milk a cow.

Kimball is and always has been a very independent girl. She loved the fact that she got her own shopping cart and list that she had to complete. She likes to help me put the groceries on the conveyor belt at the grocery store, so she was thrilled that she could do it so easily at the museum.

This was a great way to spend time until daddy was finished with his class and needed us to pick him up. I miss having a lot of kid friendly things to do in San Antonio. The possibilities are endless!
